Kevin Murray stormed to the
overall win.
It was
a cold and foggy start at SCEC's 'Inside Park' Hare & Hounds. But
the skies soon brightened and the mist lifted as the riders all lined up
for their grouped starts.

The track was fairly open
and fast, but was ideal for the time of year. Most of the wooded trails
were 2 lane, making overtaking possible around 90 percent of the course.

After lap one Kevin
Murray had already pulled out a fair lead from Andy Frost lying second,
with Nick Life chasing hard in third spot but half a minute down. After
an hour Nick Life had fought his way up to second place and was hunting
down Murray. But frost wasn't giving up that easily and all three
battled hard for the full 3 hours.

Eventually when the flag
dropped, Murray had held the lead throughout - but only just. As Life
was only 2 minutes behind and Frost a mere 9 seconds behind him!

Snippets - Rick Lennard
riding over 40's on his KTM 4stroke 250 had a tough day. His bike failed
to fire 1st time on the line and he had to battle hard to catch the
front runners. Then after a stall it took 20 minutes for him to get it
fired up once more! (Rick you're gonna have to change that old spark
plug!!!)

Ian Putt was back and had
his first full ride after smashing 5 of his toes a few weeks back. His
foot stuck the pain okay, but Ian was dissapointed with his result. His
new bike needed 2 fuel stops instead of the usual one and he had to stop
for a toilet break. Both of which dropped him back a lot further than he
wanted to be.

The guys and Gals at SCEC
put on yet another great event, leaving a lot of people happy at the end
of the day. A marvelous way to get through a long dark winter.
Well done
guys.
